About The Position

The Retention Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the long-term success of program participants by conducting follow-up activities, verifying employment outcomes, and collecting and recording survey data. This position works closely with Career Navigators to ensure participants remain engaged and supported after initial placement, and that accurate data is maintained for reporting and program improvement. The Retention Specialist helps advance the mission of Career Solutions by promoting sustained employment and continuous improvement in service delivery. The Retention Specialist will promote a positive work environment that celebrates our vision, mission and core values in every action and interaction with team members, donors, customers, management and people served.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in business, human resources, workforce development, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education requirements at a rate of two years of relevant experience for each year of required education.
  • Two (2) years of experience in workforce development, case management, data collection, or related area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct outreach and build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with data collection, survey administration, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with data privacy standards.
  • Ability to travel locally for participant and employer outreach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in employment verification or retention services.
  • Experience working with workforce development programs.
  • Professional certification in case management or data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts follow-up outreach to participants who have engaged with Career Navigators to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Verifies employment status of program participants through direct contact, employer confirmation, and documentation review.
  • Administers and records survey results to assess participant satisfaction, employment retention, and program impact.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of follow-up activities, employment verification, and survey data in databases.
  • Collaborates with Career Navigators and other staff to identify participants who may need additional support or intervention.
  • Prepares reports on retention outcomes and survey findings for management and program evaluation.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and confidentiality requirements in all data collection and reporting activities.
  • Represents the organization professionally in all interactions with participants, employers, and community partners.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
