About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Store Manager to lead associates, assist customers, and drive store sales. This role involves overseeing all aspects of business operations to maximize sales and profitability, ensuring smooth daily operations, and fostering a culture of growth among store associates. The manager is responsible for providing a positive shopping experience, safeguarding company assets, and building community relationships. The position requires compliance with laws and regulations, enforcement of company policies, and implementation of corporate operational and merchandising directions. Managers may also need to provide background information for specialized licenses to sell alcohol and/or tobacco, with failure to comply potentially leading to demotion or separation. Requirements

  • Ability to focus on results and build strong relationships with team members
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to regularly lift, up to 40 lbs. (occasionally 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height
  • Ability to handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Ability to comply and/or qualify for specialized licenses to sell alcoholic beverages / tobacco products, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Retail management experience is preferred

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Implement operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from our corporate headquarters
  • Provide certain detailed background information necessary to obtain a license to sell alcoholic beverages / tobacco products, if required by local jurisdiction
