About The Position

As a Retail Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for counseling, advising, and otherwise assisting retail store owners and managers, on how best and most profitably, to operate a retail supermarket. You will also be effectively engaging the various services and programs of the company and by the application of his/her own experienced judgment; you will be the first point of contact with the retailer and owns the relationship. Job Description Full-Time, Hybrid Role Location: San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX Preferred. Also open to Houston, TX or other locations within the region Travel role: Transportation required, overnight travel ocassionally

  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures to including equipment usage and driving policies.
  • Valid Driver's License and Valid Insurance with extended liability limits.
  • Liability Insurance Requirement: You are required to carry $500,000 single limit coverage, but we will accept $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 limits on the policy, if the single limit coverage is not available.
  • Must maintain a clear driving record.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a retail environment
  • Store management experience required

Responsibilities

  • Creating, nurturing, and maintaining a positive climate between retailers and the company and between each retailer and the Retail Counselor.
  • Accumulating and organizing relevant economic and operating data which will enable the retailers, in conjunction with the company, to plan, organize, and manage operations in the most effective manner possible.
  • Accumulating and assembling internal facts relevant to the management of each retail store, including: sales, market share, customer count, productivity measurements, transaction data, distributions, margins, expense controls, profits, R.O.I., cash flow, shrink, and marketing.
  • Analyzing and organizing data into usable forms and coordinating with relevant retail support services, such as store development, marketing, financial services, and real estate.
  • Initiating and supporting short- and long-range plans aimed at perpetuating retail viability by developing "a plan for every store.
  • Setting goals and determining specific objectives for operational improvements, promotional activities, and physical store development.
  • Focusing primarily on operational, promotional, and GSC sales program issues within short-term retail planning.
  • Concentrating principally on upgrading physical facilities for long-term planning, including remodeling, expansion, and relocation.
  • Recommending solutions to retailers and assisting them in selecting and implementing the best course of action.
  • Developing annual budgets for the assigned territory.
