One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking a Retail Sales Associate at the Gift Shop to join the team! Job Summary:  The Retail Sales Associate plays a key role in creating a welcoming and engaging shopping experience for guests. By offering exceptional service and maintaining an organized and attractive retail space, this role contributes to the over guest experience at our Resort.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience in retail sales, visual merchandising or customer service.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
  • Amazing interpersonal abilities
  • Top-of-the-line organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Incredibly detail oriented

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and provide a friendly, personalized shopping experience.
  • Create eye-catching, strategic, and promotional displays that attract customer attention.
  • Monitor product levels and replenish shelves from inventory (backstock).
  • Ensure that products are available by placing orders with vendors.
  • Partner with Shop Manager to regularly refresh and elevate amenity offerings and packaging
  • Engage with guests to build rapport, offer recommendations, and answer questions about merchandise and local artisans.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including packaging purchased items.
  • Restock and organize the sales floor throughout the day, ensuring merchandise is attractively displayed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety and organization of the shop and storage areas.
  • Receive, price, and process incoming inventory in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist manager with inventory and merchandising.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including end-of-the day reconciliations and preparing the shop for the next business day.
