The Retail Pharmacy Intern I/II position at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center involves performing duties typically associated with a pharmacy technician, under the general supervision of a pharmacist. Key responsibilities include filling medication orders, delivering medications, compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, and interviewing patients to gather medication histories. The intern also provides essential clerical support within the pharmacy to ensure efficient operations, handles medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control, and processes outpatient prescriptions by entering them into the pharmacy computer system. Adherence to general hospital standards, effective communication, strong interpersonal relationships, and teamwork are crucial for this role.
