About The Position

Retail Pharmacy Clerk/Cashier Thayer County Health Services, Thayer County, NE POSITION SUMMARY: The clerk must have a friendly, professional, outgoing personality, be cooperative, and enjoy social interaction. Clerk must exhibit enthusiasm for the pharmacy and for the job, and be a patient and courteous listener whether by phone or in person while upholding the pharmacy’s operating standards and upholding TCHS mission and core values in a professional manner at all times. SHIFT: Full-time, 40hrs/week, non-exempt, Sat (8:30a-1p) rotation SUPERVISION: Retail Pharmacy Manager

Requirements

  • High school education and GED preferred
  • Hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operators License
  • Required Basic computer skills and telephone etiquette
  • Detail oriented with excellent customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and is able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Dedicated to working as a team player and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Maintains and promotes good health practices.
  • Will conform to TCHS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of Thayer County Health Services’ Compliance Program, including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Manual.
  • All supporting policies for compliance and compliance plans.
  • Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by organizational policy and as requested by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates formal with patients, visitors and TCHS staff.
  • Willingly accepts new responsibilities and cooperates with implementation of change.
  • Dresses in neat, clean professional attire according to Dress Policy; maintains high personal hygiene standards.
  • Demonstrates respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence through a “We Care” philosophy with all patients, visitors, and TCHS staff.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and time constraints.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately for the requirements of position to be fully met.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close store as needed.
  • Reports any incident or accidents to Pharmacy Director.
  • Becomes knowledgeable about store’s amenities to ensure effective communication with members and/or guests.
  • Greet, interact and monitor customers for assistance, providing exceptional customer services.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems in a professional manner.
  • Ensure proper coverage when it is necessary to leave the area.
  • Inform co-worker(s) of pertinent information when needed.
  • Enroll members and guests in programs.
  • Display and organize products in the store for the customers to locate easily.
  • Maintain the outlook of the store through dusting, cleaning and restocking merchandise on the shelves.
  • Handle record keeping and re-ordering systems.
  • Plan and complete an efficient delivery route for deliveries when necessary.
  • Load delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery when necessary.
  • Deliver parcels to correct people and addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
