About The Position

The Outdoor Associate at DICK’S Sporting Goods, specifically at House of Sport, is responsible for providing thoughtful product recommendations tailored to the skill and experience level of each athlete. This role requires delivering an elevated customer service experience to build meaningful relationships with athletes interested in the great outdoors, fishing, camping, and hiking. Key responsibilities include driving results, ensuring adherence to Company standards, and assisting with storewide operations as needed. The associate is expected to act as a product expert, offering consultative advice and demonstrating excellent product knowledge to enhance the explorer experience. They must also maintain merchandise presentation standards, including floor sets, signing, price changes, replenishment, and recovery processes, and educate athletes on the use and maintenance of their equipment and accessories. Additionally, the role involves communicating Company initiatives to teammates and upholding loss prevention standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide thoughtful product recommendations that fit the skill/experience level of each athlete.
  • Deliver an elevated customer service experience that will build meaningful relationships with athletes within the great outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.

  • Engage in behaviors that are in-line with company’s service and selling standards.
  • Bring to life the power of opinion, making sure the explorer experience includes product experts who provide consultative advice while demonstrating excellent product knowledge.
  • Uphold standards for merchandise presentation, showcasing the best apparel and equipment brands in sporting goods by following established floor sets, signing requirements, price changes, replenishment and recovery processes, in-stock, etc.
  • Guide and educate athletes through their purchase by communicating information on use and maintenance of their equipment and accessories.
  • Help communicate information to teammates regarding Company initiatives, programs, promotions, etc.
  • Maintain Company loss prevention standards.
