About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring efficient and effective processing by Associates, and fostering a positive team environment. This role is crucial for delivering an excellent customer experience through engagement, interaction, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The coordinator also plays a key role in training and mentoring Associates on merchandising principles, monitoring productivity, and upholding store standards for organization, cleanliness, and recovery. They are expected to communicate effectively with management and Associates, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness.

Requirements

1 year retail experience
6 months of leadership experience

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards
Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Ensuring an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers
Maintaining a clean and organized store
Role modeling exceptional customer service
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
Providing and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
Other duties as assigned
