About The Position

Zest at the Mayo Clinic is the Medure Brothers quick service, coffee shop, and grab n' go concept which operates side by side with their upscale-casual restaurant and bar, M Brothers at Mayo , at the medical center’s Southside campus. The restaurants are open both to hospital visitors and the general public. Medure Brothers is seeking an experienced Retail Food Production Manager to lead and inspire the culinary team members in the day-to-day operations of Zest Grab & Go. The person in this position must be able to build and motivate a team, to communicate effectively with vendors, staff, peers & customers; have the ability to perform cost analysis, and effectively manage food production schedules. This is a very hands-on position that is heavily involved in daily food production; the ideal candidate has strong culinary knowledge & experience, great knife skills, is quick, efficient, productive, motivated, driven, disciplined, organized and a clean operator. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of restaurant and management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong background in culinary and food preparation
  • A firm leadership personality with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop their team
  • Ability to drive hospitality and inspire others to do so
  • Must exhibit an aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence at every level
  • Understanding of financial aspects of business operations

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally experience running a retail food and beverage restaurant and or store with appealing merchandising

Responsibilities

  • Food production to ensure the shelfs are always fully stocked
  • Ordering, price shopping, inventory, menu costing
  • Upholding our standards of excellence, hospitality, cleanliness, organization and food safety
  • Interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling
  • Developing team members through cross-training, motivation, and mentoring
