Our new retail location in Sayreville, NJ will feature 200,000 square feet of a completely unique custom design. Envisioned as a tribute to the great sporting heritage of the region and a celebration of everything New Jersey, it will build on the signature qualities that define the award-winning Bass Pro Shops shopping experience, combining retail with entertainment, outdoor education and conservation. Since its founding in 1972, Bass Pro Shops has blazed a new trail in the retail experience for outdoor enthusiasts. The Retail Facility Superintendent is responsible to execute a balanced facilities program consisting of long term and short term facility maintenance, landscape maintenance, energy management, waste management, environmental compliance, preservation of taxidermy, live exhibits supervision, and service contractor management. This position is dedicated to a specific location or campus.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent
  • Possess a high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Must pass a drivers background check, and possess a valid driver license
  • Must be experienced in maintenance related work
  • Experience that demonstrates skill in various building trades listed above
  • Must be effective at identifying and engaging resources available for effective problem resolution
  • Must have good customer service attitude
  • Must be polite, engaging, and have a courteous demeanor
  • Ability be able read and analyze building plans, and quotes for service
  • Must have reasonable writing skills sufficient to communicate effectively with business correspondence
  • Must possess effective verbal communication skills to present information, and answer questions
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers and with the base camp team

Responsibilities

  • Executes a balanced maintenance program consisting of preventive and routine maintenance, work order service requests, project management, and emergency response.
  • Maintains ongoing energy conservation and effective, measured, energy management.
  • Executives a comprehensive waste management program that focuses on solid waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. This is a measured program focused on the end objective of zero landfill rating (90% or greater diversion of solid waste).
  • Maintains Pollution Prevention and Environmental Compliance as outlined in the site specific PPEC master schedule.
  • Preserves the taxidermy asset to include periodic cleaning and supervising service providers to deliver a comprehensive pest control program.
  • Works in partnership with Base Camp Facilities team for facilities related financial approvals and best practice.
  • Supervises in house maintenance staff and manages service contractors.
