About The Position

As the Retail Energy Efficiency Team Lead, you will support the growth and expansion of Georgia Power’s energy efficiency products. Primarily, you will manage a team of Product Merchandisers and provide support implementing critical field outreach and merchandizing services to retailers of energy efficient lighting products and appliances across Georgia. The Retail Energy Efficiency Team Lead will oversee and ensure Product Analysts are providing education to employees and consumers at retail locations on the product benefits and potential savings opportunities and ensuring products and materials are placed and priced accurately in store and in the program’s tracking system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred or Equivalent Experience.
  • 3-5 years of sales or outreach experience with a strong customer-centric mindset.
  • 3+ years of experience in energy and energy efficiency programs or related trade experience.
  • Advanced experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Proven attention to detail, time management, organization, and prioritization. Ability to work well under pressure and self-motivate.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to connect quickly with others, resolve conflict, and inspire and mentor direct reports.
  • Ability and openness to travel within the Georgia Power service territory. Must have a current, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of motor vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to rotating weekends and additional hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, highly desired
  • Certified Energy Manager, LEED, other industry certifications are a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience working with commercial trade allies working on energy efficiency programs in Georgia or experience building relationships with trade allies in similar markets.
  • Experience working on successful energy efficiency programs, with specific expertise in energy efficiency technologies and products (especially commercial energy-efficient measures), energy issues in existing commercial and industrial buildings, and US policies for energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being met while supporting the program’s merchandising activities across the Georgia Power service territory.
  • Manage performance of Energy Efficiency Product Merchandisers.
  • Determine and adjust territories and staff routing to support program needs.
  • Oversee education for retailers’ staff and consumers on commercial savings opportunities provided by the Product Merchandisers.
  • Support changes to product pricing to ensure process is consistent and efficient across the service territory.
  • Prepare status reports to accurately describe activities in the field and to monitor progress towards achievement of program goals.
  • Maintain accurate data and project progress in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Develop rapport and build relationships with Product Merchandisers, retailers, and external clients, including Retailer/Trade Ally outreach and training as well as distributing Point of Purchase (POP) materials at participating retail locations.
  • Schedule and staff special events at big box retail locations during evening and weekends and attend client-sponsored promotional events at wholesale and retail levels.
  • Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns.
  • Participate in MDEA leadership activities, including conducting performance reviews for Product Merchandisers, attending required training, and supporting business development initiatives.
  • Assist with other projects and adapt to changing program priorities.
