About The Position

The Retail Color Mixer Specialist is responsible for tinting and mixing paint to customer specifications, working with both wholesale and retail customers to understand their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. This role requires staying updated on product features, maintaining high quality and visual standards for products and the store, and achieving excellent customer service while meeting sales goals. Job duties involve customer interaction, handling cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise, which may be supervised or unsupervised. A criminal history review is required to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public. The individual will be expected to work at Store #3125, located at: 4110 Central Ave NE, Columbia Hts, MN 55421 (main store) and as needed at Store #3945, located at: 4090 Lakeland Ave. N. Robbinsdale, MN 55422 and Store #3479, located at: 4911 Excelsior Blvd. St. Louis Park, MN 55416.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal
If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position

Nice To Haves

Have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
Have previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish

Responsibilities

Prepare customers' paint orders quickly and accurately
Tint and mix products, as needed, to customer specifications
Preparing drawdowns for submittal to customers
Clean, fill, and repair equipment, as needed
Maintain precise work order files and formulas
Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse
Stock shelves and set up displays
Clean store equipment
Load/unload delivery trucks
Assist in making deliveries, as needed
Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services
Process sales transactions accurately and consistent with policies and procedures
Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
Comply with inventory control procedures
Suggest ways to improve sales
