About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Bike Technician is a technically focused role aimed at providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures and will leverage personal experiences and industry trends to offer strong product recommendations tailored to customer needs. The role involves creating a world-class customer experience through passionate service and engagement within the Bike Department, upholding merchandise presentation standards, and demonstrating knowledge and commitment to the sport. The technician will also promote company programs like warranty sales, loyalty programs, and credit cards, and work towards achieving sales goals for bikes and related merchandise. The company emphasizes creating an inclusive and diverse workforce and equipping athletes to achieve their dreams.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
  • Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.

  • Prior experience of building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred

Responsibilities

  • Building and repairing bicycles in accordance with established procedures.
  • Providing strong product recommendations that align to the customer’s needs.
  • Creating a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department.
  • Upholding company standards for merchandise presentation.
  • Demonstrating ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport or activity.
  • Promoting company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions.
  • Achieving sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
  • Assisting with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
  • Maintaining merchandise presentation standards and signage of Bike Department to Company standards as directed.
  • Adhering to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all Company information.
  • Taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by management.
