About The Position

The individuals who perform this job provide extraordinary shopping experiences to our guests and stock merchandise. This role involves actively demonstrating the Company Mission Statement and Core Values, maintaining uniform standards, and possessing superior product knowledge. Key aspects include greeting guests, recommending merchandise, answering product questions, and building client relationships. The position also entails various operational tasks such as running a cash register, receiving merchandise, preparing promotional events, setting up displays, stocking shelves, maintaining a neat sales floor, and assisting with inventory. It requires continuous improvement of skills, adherence to company policies regarding coworker interactions and cell phone use, efficient execution of management directives, attention to detail, teamwork, time management, and stress management in a fast-paced environment. This is an onsite, full-time position.

Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be over the age of 21.
Willingness to learn (if no retail sales experience).
High school diploma or a general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos.
Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals.
Ability to calculate discounts and percentages.
Responsible, reliable, and committed to providing extraordinary service.
Patience, friendliness, and an outgoing personality.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Completes job assignments in a timely fashion and then looks for the next task.

Responsibilities

Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.
Know and actively demonstrate superior product knowledge.
Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor, remembering that the guest always comes first.
Recommend merchandise based on the guests needs or desires, with a focus to suggest our in-house brands.
Answer guests questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
Create client relationships with regular guests.
If needed, carry product to register counters and carry out products for guests.
May be asked to run a cash register as business dictates.
May be asked to receive as business dictates.
Prepare promotional events as necessary.
Set up displays or arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables, to promote sales.
Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness and stock shelves with product.
Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.
Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; look for product not stocked properly to avoid trips and falls.
Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow-moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities only while on the sales floor.
Carry out directives of management efficiently.
Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
Possess time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
Constantly stand, lift, carry, walk, and bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more. Use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools. Push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more regularly. Communicate with and understand team members and guests. See product and signage.
