About The Position

The position of Retail Associate is responsible for greeting all customers in a friendly and courteous way, selling merchandise, maintaining a neat and tidy store while also assisting customers with all questions and requests.

Requirements

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly manner while maintaining a positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm in uncomfortable conflicts
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of retail operations
  • Ability to perform cash transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, reach, squat, and stretch while handling merchandise, stocking, or assisting customers
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Previous in-person customer experience preferred
  • Previous retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Energetically welcome customers and provide a friendly, courteous shopping experience
  • Assist customers in selecting products and escort them to desired merchandise locations
  • Maintain knowledge of store merchandise to answer questions and make recommendations
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers and suggestive selling
  • Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
  • Operate the register and POS system
  • Manage financial transactions
  • Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records
  • Upsell merchandise at appropriate times
  • Maintain a clean and organized store
  • Perform inventory and assist with stock organization
  • Alerts management of potential security issues
  • All other duties as assigned
