Your Role: Retail Account Manager As a Retail Account Manager, you will play a vital role in driving retail sales through the register at customers, while managing investments to ensure we leverage our pay for performance model. You will be a crucial link between Elanco and our valued retail partners, fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the retail landscape, anticipate customer needs, and ensure their satisfaction, ultimately driving revenue growth for Elanco. In addition to relationship management, this position provides exposure to operational processes, allowing you to hone key skills in analytics, financials, and strategic account management. You will gain valuable experience in navigating the complexities of key account management, setting you up for future success within Elanco. Customer responsibilities include: CVS, Ture Value, Menards, and additional accounts as identified.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Minimum two years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales or equivalent selling experience within a competitive environment.
  • Experience in the animal health industry is a strong plus.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Own account planning and growth: expand assortment, manage trade and financials, deliver strategic presentations, and inform decisions aligned to the plan.
  • Lead internal/external meeting cadence: align on initiatives, track action items for both parties, and drive timely follow-through.
  • Coordinate end-to-end operations: partner with supply/warehouse, customer service, retail ops, and accounting to prevent/resolve issues impacting the customer and Elanco sales.
  • Manage financials and analytics: forecast accurately, process invoices/rebates, optimize trade spend for ROI/net sales, and analyze programs/KPIs (with Finance/Omnium) to improve performance.
  • Build strategic relationships and enablement: act as a trusted advisor, facilitate education and business reviews, and collaborate with Category Management and Shopper Marketing to identify opportunities and close performance gaps.
