Restaurant Supervisor

Piatti Mill ValleyMill Valley, CA

About The Position

Part floor captain. Part guest champion. Totally the person who makes the magic happen. Are you the kind of person who walks into a room and instantly knows who needs attention, what table is about to turn, and how to turn a first-time guest into a regular? Do you thrive when the dining room is full, the energy is electric, and the team is looking to you to set the pace? If so, we want to talk. Piatti Mill Valley is looking for a Front of House Supervisor who leads from the floor - someone who sees hospitality as a performance, and who understands that every guest interaction is an opportunity to create a memory. This is a full-time leadership role with a flexible schedule and weekend availability required. Prior restaurant experience is essential and must be available for weekends and closing shifts. A LITTLE ABOUT US Established in 1987, Piatti is a fresh take on the neighborhood Italian trattoria - where Italian cuisine is crafted with authenticity and soul. Our house-made pasta is rolled, cut, and cooked by hand every single day. At Piatti Mill Valley, we've created a warm, inviting space where seamless service meets genuine connection. With the addition of Piatti Provisions - our retail and pasta shop - we're bringing the Piatti experience home with guests, too. We're part of Palisades Hospitality, a Northern California-based hospitality management company with a portfolio of 20+ hotels and restaurants. We build spaces that leave a lasting impression - and we want team members who share that ambition. WHAT YOU'LL OWN ON THE FLOOR This isn't a clipboard-and-checklist role. As FOH Supervisor at Piatti Mill Valley, you're the energy in the room - guiding your team, reading your guests, and making real-time decisions that elevate the entire experience: Own the floor. You're the person guests feel even before they see. Lead service from the moment a guest walks in to the moment they leave - with warm greetings, attentive table visits, and a sincere send-off that makes them want to come back. Be an experience architect. Know the menu inside and out - every pasta shape, every wine pour, every ingredient. Use that knowledge to guide guests toward moments they'll remember, not just meals they'll eat. Run a tight, joyful ship. Keep service flowing, the team communicating, and the dining room operating at its best - even (especially) on a full Saturday night. Back your team. Support your servers, bussers, and hosts with coaching, energy, and accountability. A great supervisor makes everyone around them better. Handle it. Whether it's a guest concern, a timing issue, or a last-minute table turn - you're calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented. Keep it compliant and cash-tight. Process payments accurately, maintain security of the cash till, follow all state liquor regulations, and safeguard guest information. Partner with the kitchen. Communicate effectively with BOH to ensure seamless execution and great timing between the pass and the table. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate brings hospitality know-how, team-first energy, and a genuine love for the guest experience. Here's what sets you apart: You're a natural leader - organized, clear-headed, and calm under pressure You communicate confidently with guests, teammates, and kitchen staff You know how to read a room - and act on what you see You work with precision: accurate calculations, legible communication, and attention to detail You understand POS systems and can navigate service tools efficiently You have working knowledge of food and beverage - menu items, wine by the glass, preparation methods, and portion standards You're fluent in responsible alcohol service and California liquor regulations You thrive in collaborative environments and lift the people around you You're available weekends and can adapt to a varied, full-time schedule GROW WITH US This role is a launchpad.
