About The Position

Q39 is Growing – Join Our Exquisite Team! Kansas City’s award-winning BBQ is expanding! We’re opening a new location in Lawrence, Kansas, and we’re building an exceptional management team to help us bring our passion for world-class BBQ and scratch-made, chef-inspired cuisine to even more guests. Pay is $8.00Hr + Tip Pool Our passion is creating craveable, memorable dining experience by assisting servers, ensuring food quality and presentation accuracy, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and providing warm, attentive guest interactions.

Requirements

  • Reliable and hardworking Server Assistant with experience supporting servers in fast-paced dining environments
  • Strong ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including bussing and resetting tables
  • Skilled in assisting with food running, beverage refills, and guest needs to ensure smooth service flow
  • Effective team player with clear communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
  • Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in basic food safety, sanitation, and workplace cleanliness standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an Efficient Expo Pass System
  • Follow the direction of the Expo Lead at all times.
  • Ensure all plates leaving expo meet Q39 standards for presentation, accuracy, and quality.
  • Confirm items are complete, visually appealing, and free from issues before running them to the guest.
  • Deliver Plates to Guests
  • Run food promptly and safely to the correct tables.
  • After each delivery, engage guests with warm, professional service:
  • Confirm they are happy with their meal.
  • Ask if they need anything additional.
  • Offer further assistance before leaving the table.
  • Communicate guest needs to the Server or Expo Lead immediately.
  • Provide Active Dining Room Support
  • Pre-bus tables consistently to maintain a clean, organized, and enjoyable dining environment.
  • Assist Servers by monitoring table needs, water refills, and guest requests.
  • Maintain Carry-Out & Retail Stations
  • Keep the carry-out station organized, stocked, and ready for fast service.
  • Restock retail items as needed while ensuring the area remains clean and visually appealing.
  • Uphold Q39 Values & Standards
  • Be positive, professional, reliable, and team oriented.
  • Support continuous improvement by communicating issues, offering solutions, and helping proactively solve problems.
  • Demonstrate passion for the Q39 brand in all guest interactions.
