About The Position

At The Mather, we’re seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant dining venues. In this key leadership role, you’ll be the driving force behind a service-focused team, ensuring every guest interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, and excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with culinary and service leaders to create a seamless, resident-centered experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels in fast-paced environments, is highly organized, and is committed to developing team members while upholding the highest standards of service and quality. This position is full-time, salaried, and located on-site at The Mather in Evanston, IL. Weeknight, weekend, holiday and evening availability required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or
  • Progressive experience in an upscale restaurant and/or Life Plan
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and make independent
  • Proficient in Windows applications including Excel, Word and
  • Knowledgeable in Point-of-Sale
  • Knowledgeable in job related federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe and clean dining
  • Certification in food safety/sanitation and BASSET.
  • English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Director of Food & Beverage in the timely hiring, orientation, scheduling and on-going training and performance management of restaurant team members.
  • Manages all related systems within the
  • Supervises the flow of service to ensure that residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
  • Inspects workstations for completion of assigned side
  • Responds to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional
  • Maintains timely and professional communication with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Executive Chef and shares all food comments and suggestions with the Executive Chef.
  • Works with restaurant management to help ensure budgetary
  • Responsible to manage and maintain the equipment necessary to successfully operate the restaurants at or above Mather service standards.
  • Coordinates and executes theme meals and/or functions and related billing processes and provides accurate and timely information so that billing for events/functions can occur and resident satisfaction is ensured.
  • Oversees beverage program in conjunction with the Mixologist to ensure premium service and
  • Establishes, operationalizes, engages team members in, and sustains a Quality Assurance Process Improvement process..
