About The Position

The Restaurant Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and wait lists, and coordinating seating to support smooth restaurant operations.

California Food Handlers Certificate required upon hire

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival
Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
Escort guests to table and present menus
Communicate wait times accurately and manage guest expectations
Coordinate with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure proper table rotation
Maintain cleanliness and organize of the host stand and entry area
Answer phone calls, make reservations, and respond to guest inquiries
Monitor dining room activity and assist with guest needs
Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return
Set up and break down of service area for the shift
Deliver excellent customer service and engage with guests
Other duties as assigned
