About The Position

We are looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the opening team of Julene at The Sunny Hotel in Sunny Isles Beach. About The Sunny: The Sunny is a new oceanfront hotel in Sunny Isles Beach, marking the transformation of the historic Newport Beachside Hotel into a modern beachfront destination. The 340-room property blends thoughtful design with a strong food and beverage program, multiple dining concepts, and a series of lively social spaces designed for both guests and the local community. Family-owned for three generations, the property builds on decades of hospitality on one of South Florida’s most storied beachfront sites. With a completely refreshed guest experience and an ambitious culinary program, The Sunny represents a new chapter for this longtime Sunny Isles Beach landmark. About Julene: Julene will serve as the hotel’s signature restaurant and a cornerstone of its food and beverage program. A refined yet approachable neighborhood restaurant, Julene focuses on familiar American cooking executed at a high level—celebrating dishes people crave, prepared with care and confidence. Designed to feel lively and welcoming, Julene is intended to become a true gathering place for Miami—equally loved by hotel guests and local regulars alike. Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Restaurant General Manager is the strategic and operational leader of Julene. This role is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving financial performance, and upholding the restaurant’s service and brand standards. The General Manager will lead and develop the service team, work closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless dining room and kitchen operations, and foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and genuine hospitality. Through strong leadership, attention to detail, and operational discipline, the General Manager will help establish Julene as a destination for both hotel guests and the local community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 5 year’s experience in food and beverage management.
  • Full P&L management experience and a strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor, management and bottom-line profitability
  • Strong business communication skills and associate relation skills
  • Present a professional appearance with a confident attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll and labor management
  • Experience with TOAST POS system
  • Current Serve Safe Certification preferred
  • TIPS or CARE CERTIFICATION
  • CPR Certification preferred
  • Available to work both AM and PM Shifts
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to train employees in alcohol intervention, food handling, and sanitation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day operations of Julene, owning the dining room experience and ensuring an exceptional and consistent standard of service, hospitality, and execution.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing service team, establishing a culture of accountability, professionalism, and genuine hospitality that reflects the standards of The Sunny.
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless alignment between the dining room and kitchen, maintaining excellence in quality, pacing, and overall guest experience.
  • Establish and uphold service standards, setting the tone for front-of-house operations across the hotel and ensuring every detail is executed with intention and consistency.
  • Drive financial performance through disciplined labor management, cost control, and revenue optimization, while protecting the integrity of the guest experience.
  • Act as a visible leader on the floor, engaging with guests, building relationships, and positioning Julene as a destination for both hotel guests and the local community.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service standards.
  • Oversee POS systems, reporting, inventory, and cash-handling procedures to ensure operational accuracy and accountability.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to support programming, special events, and activations that build awareness and demand.
  • Continuously evaluate guest feedback, industry trends, and competitive offerings to evolve and strengthen Julene’s position in the market.
