We are looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the Citrus Shack at The Sunny Hotel in Sunny Isles Beach. About The Sunny: The Sunny is a new oceanfront hotel in Sunny Isles Beach, marking the transformation of the historic Newport Beachside Hotel into a modern beachfront destination. The 340-room property blends thoughtful design with a strong food and beverage program, multiple dining concepts, and a series of lively social spaces designed for both guests and the local community. Family-owned for three generations, the property builds on decades of hospitality on one of South Florida’s most storied beachfront sites. With a completely refreshed guest experience and an ambitious culinary program, The Sunny represents a new chapter for this longtime Sunny Isles Beach landmark. About Citrus Shack: Citrus Shack is The Sunny’s pool and beachside restaurant and a central part of the hotel’s food and beverage program. Serving a full menu of thoughtfully prepared, crowd-pleasing dishes alongside a strong beverage offering, it is designed to support the pace and energy of a full day by the water—from morning through sunset. Set directly at the heart of the pool and beach experience, Citrus Shack blends high-volume service with a clear point of view, delivering food and drinks that feel elevated, consistent, and easy to enjoy in a relaxed, outdoor setting. As one of the hotel’s most active outlets, it plays a critical role in shaping the guest experience and driving overall food and beverage performance. Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Restaurant General Manager is the strategic and operational leader of Citrus Shack. This role oversees all front-of-house operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving financial performance, and upholding service and brand standards. The General Manager will lead and develop the team, working closely with culinary leadership to ensure high-quality execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. They will foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and genuine hospitality. Through strong leadership and operational discipline, the General Manager will play a key role in shaping the experience at the heart of the hotel and driving the success of The Sunny’s poolside and beach food and beverage program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of food and beverage management experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-volume environment
  • Full P&L management experience with strong financial acumen and the ability to manage labor, control costs, and drive profitability
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests and team members
  • Professional, guest-facing presence with a confident and approachable demeanor
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll, and labor management systems
  • Experience with TOAST POS system
  • Current ServSafe certification preferred
  • TIPS or CARE certification required or ability to obtain
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day operations of Citrus Shack, ensuring high standards of service, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling, fostering a positive and accountable culture.
  • Partner with culinary leadership to ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and efficient execution.
  • Drive financial performance by managing labor, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service standards, with a strong focus on outdoor operations.
  • Oversee POS systems, reporting, inventory, and cash-handling procedures to ensure operational accuracy and accountability.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and programming teams to support activations, events, and a cohesive experience.
  • Stay attuned to guest feedback, trends, and competitive offerings to continuously improve Citrus Shack.
