About The Position

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, staff performance, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards consistent with a celebrity chef or upscale dining concept, including service quality, brand standards, and team leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or hospitality management coursework preferred.
  • 3+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience, preferably in upscale, fine-dining, or celebrity chef establishments.
  • Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards in a high-volume, high-end restaurant environment.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and operational reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of state and local alcohol service regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and manage operations in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a high-end dining environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds occasionally (supplies, linens, or equipment).
  • Ability to respond quickly to operational or guest service needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising front-of-house operations, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, and bussers.
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional guest service consistent with restaurant standards.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of team members to maintain performance excellence.
  • Ensure smooth service flow during peak periods and special events.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all company policies, food safety regulations, and liquor laws.
  • Assist with scheduling and labor management to meet operational and budgetary goals.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and banquet teams to coordinate special events and VIP services.
  • Maintain accurate records for cash handling, daily reports, and service audits.
  • Ensure the restaurant is maintained to brand standards, including cleanliness, presentation, and organization.
  • Support inventory control, ordering, and cost management to meet financial objectives.
  • Participate in management meetings and provide feedback on operational improvements.
