Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Requirements

  • 5 years of critical care/clinical respiratory therapy experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of a two year associates degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist through the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and NRP (must be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of progressively more responsible work experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • The Pulmonary Services Supervisor, under the guidance of the Director of Pulmonary Services, manages the staff of their respective shifts in the clinical, technical, and administrative matters as they relate to the philosophy and the goals of the Pulmonary Services Department.
  • Supervises clinical activities and provides clinical assistance
  • Maintains staffing levels to meet patients’ needs.
  • Performs annual staff evaluations and staff counseling.
  • Participates in department quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides department leadership.
  • Must possess excellent working knowledge of pulmonary equipment and be able perform all respiratory procedures.
  • Provides good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical skills knowledge to ensure UTHealth and departmental objectives are maintained.
