About The Position

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, sometimes referred to as a Lead Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Therapist Supervisor. The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor is the bridge between bedside care and department leadership. Respiratory Supervisor will still think clinically, but a big chunk of their job is making sure the whole respiratory service runs smoothly and safely. Requirements

  • A minimum of (2) years experience in a blood gas laboratory
  • Starting October 1, 2014 Associates Degree required for all new hires
  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner License in state required
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • PALS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • NRP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee respiratory care delivery across all patient care units, and inpatient floors, ensuring high-quality and timely services
  • Provide clinical leadership for complex and high-risk cases, including ventilator management, rapid responses, and code situations
  • Supervise, mentors, and evaluates respiratory therapy staff; manages staffing assignments, scheduling, call coverage, and onboarding as needed
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based practices, and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, state licensure)
  • Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives; monitor documentation accuracy and investigate respiratory-related incidents or events
  • Coordinate respiratory services with physicians, nursing leadership, and administration; manage equipment, resources, and coverage during high-volume or emergency situations
