About The Position

In this training position , the Respiratory Therapist Resident will be responsible for assisting the respiratory therapist in providing respiratory care and, while under supervision, assisting with the treatment for a range of cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders. Under the direct supervision of the respiratory therapist, assisting the therapist with providing respiratory therapy according to the physician orders, including aerosol medication delivery, lung expansion and airway clearance modalities. Assist the respiratory therapist with the set up and administration of oxygen using a variety of devices. Clean, set up and perform pre-service testing of respiratory equipment such as ventilators and non-invasive ventilators. Deliver respiratory therapy equipment to therapist as needed. Stock respiratory therapy supplies on nursing units and specialty areas. Deliver oxygen tanks to nursing units and specialty areas. Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Respiratory Therapy Resident is expected to graduate within 8 months from a Respiratory Therapy program
