About The Position

ECMC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Lead to bring clinical expertise, collaboration, and a passion for improving patient outcomes across our cardiopulmonary services. In this role, you’ll provide advanced respiratory care while helping coordinate daily department activities, mentor fellow therapists, and support a full spectrum of cardiac and pulmonary diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment services. Requirements

  • Associate degree in respiratory therapy required; completion of AARC approved RRT program
  • Minimum of two years in the medical field
  • Registered in the State of Kansas as a Respiratory Therapist, licensed as a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist
  • CPR certification required
  • ACLS required

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory treatments including inhaled medications, therapeutic gases, and airway therapies
  • Perform respiratory procedures such as sputum induction, chest physiotherapy, and incentive spirometry
  • Support critical care needs including airway management and emergency response
  • Perform diagnostics such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function testing
  • Assist with and support cardiac and pulmonary diagnostics, including EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and related cardiopulmonary testing
  • Collaborate in the care of patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions, supporting interventions that improve overall cardiopulmonary health
  • Monitor patient progress and partner with physicians and care teams to optimize treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on both respiratory and cardiopulmonary care plans
  • Provide guidance and support to respiratory therapy staff
  • Assist with coordinating daily cardiopulmonary department workflow
  • Support staff training, mentoring, and competency development across respiratory and cardiac services
  • Promote best practices, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
  • Assist with equipment management, department processes, and clinical protocols
