About The Position
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates relocating from outside the state of Illinois. Salary Range: $1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour. Department: Cardiopulmonary / Respiratory Therapy Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt Location: Chicago Metro Area, Illinois – big-city lifestyle, strong healthcare market, no car required, lakefront living. ✔ Interview within 24 - 48 hours | Fast Offer Process ✔ Work in a high-acuity, critical care environment and advanced respiratory cases ✔ Competitive pay + shift differentials ✔ Career growth within a large healthcare system The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.
Requirements
- State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
- ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
- PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Nice To Haves
- NRP certificate preferred
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management)
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs)
- Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
- Document care in the EMR
- Respond to code blue and rapid response events
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
- May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts
