About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Southdale Hospital location in Edina, MN. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. Schedule: This position will be working casual. Casuals are required to work a minimum of 6 shifts each quarter/ 3 months. One shift must be a weekend. One holiday per year is required. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for: Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes. Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care. Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes. Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient. Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
• Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Exceptions include: New Graduates must complete their Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 6 months of hire.
• Those with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) must have 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in a clinical setting.
• Respiratory Therapists working at M Health Fairview Facilities - supplemented by defined contract staffing agency – temporary.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
• At least 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience in a clinical setting

Responsibilities
