About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Shift: 4x12 Nights (18:45–07:15). Weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe. Call is required as needed based on workload. Floating may occur within the hospital based on skill set and census. Unit information: Large respiratory care department practicing at the top of their license. Travelers work Med/Surg and ICU Step-Down units, and may work in the Emergency Department. Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Large COPD population and many COVID patients; prone positioning is common. Night-time VPAP utilized (Omni-labs and V30s). ABL90 ABG machine in use. Epic charting is required. RTO policy: RTO after booking is not allowed. No RTO during the first week due to orientation. Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if it does not fall on a holiday. Additional call-offs or RTO on unit may result in cancellation and DNR. Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if they fall within the assignment window. Fatigue policy applies (no more than 5 days in a row and no more than 60 hours in a week). Compensation: W2: $17.50/hr Total Weekly Stipend: $1,246.00 Gross Weekly Pay: $2,226.00

Requirements

  • Licensure: Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapist license or Compact license (must be in hand by start date; pending OK for submission per system notes).
  • Credentials: Active RRT credentials required (CRT will not be accepted).
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience; required work setting experience in ER, Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ICU/Stepdown.
  • Required skills: Airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizers, BiPAP, CPAP, vest therapy, Meta-neb, PAP therapy, heated high-flow.
  • Charting system: Epic experience required.
  • Floating: Candidate must be comfortable floating within the hospital based on census and skill set.
  • Call: On call required as needed/workload dependent.
  • Scheduling: 4x12 Nights (18:45–07:15); 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
  • RTO/Holidays: RTO after booking not allowed; no RTO first week due to orientation; max 7 days RTO (no holidays); must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • Compliance: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing and complete all testing within 48 hours.
  • Vaccine policy: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
  • Radius rule: Permanent address under 50 miles will be offered at a lower local rate.
