As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at WellStar, you'll provide critical respiratory care and education under the guidance of the RC Manager/Director. Your responsibilities include: Delivering comprehensive patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care settings. Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences; required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of current RT experience required in a hospital environment required.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in computer use and familiar with healthcare databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering comprehensive patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care settings.
  • Educating patients and their families while mentoring new staff and students.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to plan and implement effective care strategies.
  • Ensure thorough patient assessments, documentation, and education while promoting a positive team environment.
  • Administer therapies, manage ventilators, perform assessments, and provide specialized care, including assisting in invasive procedures.
  • Maintain high patient safety standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
