FTE 0 Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 0 Work Shift All Shifts: 8 hours Job Description Meets all required competencies for RT I and II, plus passes competencies, regularly works in NICU or performs Advanced Pulmonary Diagnostic Services or works in Cardiopulmonary Wellness and meets core requirements. Performs relief charge/bronch/flex as part of regular duties, plus Professional Activities equal to six (6) points required. The CPWC RT supports all segments of the Pulmonary Rehab Program under the supervision of the Manager and Medical Director. Responsibilities include patient intakes which include determining diagnosis criteria and insurance coding that meets insurance requirements. Other responsibilities include: patient assessment and orientation, developing a comprehensive Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP), and psychosocial support for both patient and family. Uses strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with all members of the health care team to promote best practice for optimum patient care. Other duties include leading group exercises, giving educational lectures, and performing non-invasive diagnostic testing (6MWT, spirometry, and physical performance testing). Qualifications Must have an AS degree in Respiratory Care from an approved Respiratory Care program that is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. Bachelor of Science preferred Licensed by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Requirements

  • Must have an AS degree in Respiratory Care from an approved Respiratory Care program that is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Minimum three (3) years of inpatient experience in an acute care hospital
  • One year ED and or ICU experience
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) or Registered by the National Respiratory Care Board as a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT). For Cardiopulmonary Wellness, RRT required; RPFT preferred.
  • Hold and maintain active membership with National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) bi-annually
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) bi-annually.
  • Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation program (NRP) bi-annually.(not required for CPWC)
  • Certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) bi-annually.(not required for CPWC)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science preferred
  • Experience in Pulmonary Rehab, preferred for Cardiopulmonary Wellness Center(CPWC)
  • Knowledge of the pathophysiology and treatment of chronic lung diseases(CPWC)
  • Experience in exercise training and education, preferred for (CPWC)
  • Experience in pulmonary function testing and interpretation, preferred (CPWC)
