Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Schedule: this is a PRN role that will work on an as-needed basis. How you’ll contribute A Respiratory Therapist (CRT) who excels in this role: Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing. Consults with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. Performs therapies and educates patients on medication use and respiratory health. Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Performs bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered. Delivers and evaluates patient response to therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately. Responds to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provides rapid assessment and appropriate intervention. Educates patients and families about illness management and community resources. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. Stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas with required levels and equipment. Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
