Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015. How you’ll contribute The Certified Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in an acute care hospital setting. This role conducts diagnostic assessments, including lung capacity measurements, bedside PFTs, EKGs, and blood gas analysis, and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The therapist delivers and evaluates respiratory therapies, responds to emergency and code situations, and provides patient and family education on respiratory health and medication use. Responsibilities also include maintaining and calibrating equipment, managing respiratory care supplies, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. Serving a full range of patient populations—from neonates to older adults—the therapist ensures high‑quality, evidence‑based care while adhering to safety standards and regulatory guidelines. Requirements

  • Applicants should have Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
  • Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in state of practice required
  • Basic Life Support certification is required
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire
  • NRP preferred
