About The Position

Every other weekend is required, including holidays (based on weekend schedule). Candidates with pediatric experience preferred. Must be willing to travel from outside a 100-mile radius.

Requirements

• A.A.S. in Respiratory Therapy
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license/registration
• Minimum 2 years post-A.A.S. degree clinical acute care experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy
• Institute and monitor oxygen therapy
• Assist physicians in initiating and maintaining continuous ventilation
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Perform pulmonary function tests
• Perform radial arterial punctures
• Carry out the majority of patient care functions in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
