Summary of Position: The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) safely provides basic and advanced respiratory care services throughout the hospital, according to established policies, procedures and protocols. Qualifications Education: â Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program â Registered Respiratory Therapist credential â BS in Respiratory Therapy preferred Experience: â Minimum one year experience in acute care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner preferred Certifications/Licensure: â Current RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) â Current California RCP license â Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date â Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification prior to hire or must enroll and complete the first available Barton University courses â S.T.A.B.L.E. preferred â NPS and/or ACCS preferred Physical Demands The physical demands described uired here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. IE: COVID-19/TB â Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and waste. â Subject to hazards of flammable and explosive gases. â Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations. â Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands. â Occasional travel to various health system locations.
