About The Position

Comprehensive RT Residency Program: Transition smoothly from student to professional with our structured residency program designed to enhance your skills and confidence over the first 12-months of your career.
The Respiratory Care Graduate position transitions the new graduate into a Respiratory Care Practitioner role post-graduation. The individual will take the skills and knowledge gained in school and clinical experience to work directly with a preceptor to become competent with all equipment, modalities and clinical patient assessments needed to care for patients in the hospital setting. The Respiratory Care Graduate position will provide direct patient care in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures and display the core values of Froedtert under supervision of a licensed RCP.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a course of study in Respiratory Care is required.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with an Associates Degree is required.
• Staff must produce a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the State of Wisconsin with in 120 days from date of graduation.
• Basic Life Support ( BLS ) is required.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical experience in hospital, home care or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with Bachelors Degree is preferred.
• ACLS is preferred.
• Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care ( AARC ).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures
• Work directly with a preceptor to become competent with all equipment, modalities and clinical patient assessments needed to care for patients in the hospital setting
