About The Position

The Respiratory Care Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and disinfecting of Respiratory Care supplies and equipment within the Department and storage areas, for restocking, and assisting respiratory therapists in gathering equipment/stocking if needed.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrollment in Respiratory Therapy School preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Good organizational skills and prioritizing abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexible and Adaptive to change
• Physically able to do lifting, moving, and transporting equipment.
• Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Enrollment in Respiratory Therapy School preferred

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting Respiratory equipment.
• Changing and tracking filters on BiPAP/CPAP machines.
• Taking and receiving equipment from CSS.
• At times, assistance with transport of equipment to various units throughout the hospital may be required.
• Equipment assembly, dis-assembly, and pre use checks
• Putting supply items away in department and making sure Respiratory Therapy storage rooms are adequately stocked throughout hospital
• Downloading overnight recording oximeter procedures into patients’ EMR with appropriate charges
• Management of PAPR closet including signing in and out PAPRs to hospital staff
• Assisting Charge Respiratory Therapist or Leadership
