Work Schedule: Hours vary and may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component. Rate of Pay/Benefits: This is a Part-Time Adjunct Faculty position with the following pay rate per contact hour: Less than MA: $1,069 MA or Above: $1,109 The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related health science field
  • Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Illinois State RCP license.
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
  • Two (2) years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program, or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assigned classes, labs and/or clinicals.
  • Prepare lessons
  • Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
  • Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
  • Prepare labs
  • Enforce lab safety procedures
  • Keep accurate record of student performance
  • Provide students with timely feedback
  • Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication
  • Refer students to student support services
  • Accommodate special needs students
  • Other duties as assigned that pertain to the job description
