Think that’s cool? Keep reading: The Role Performs tasks in the controlling, monitoring, and disposal of hazardous, industrial and non-hazardous waste scrap, surplus materials, and recyclables. Required to work within Resource Recovery area of the shipyard in all weather conditions utilizing specialized knowledge and equipment. Receive 40-hour HAZWOPER initial training, and 8-hour annual refresher training. These are the major duties required, and other duties may be assigned by Management as the need arises. Experience identifying products and wastes, unloading/loading cargo vans, sorting heavy scrap/trash material, handling hazardous materials, and opening and seating 55-gallon drums per OSHA HAZWOPER standards.
