About The Position

The Resort Services Foreperson (RSF) is a part of the Resort Services Department and is responsible for the delivery of the highest quality customer service, rental experience and sales in Copper Mountain's Resort Services locations. The RSF’s responsibilities encompass the day-to-day operations across all of the Copper Mountain owned and operated Retail, Rental and Guest Service locations. The RSF will be assigned a specific location(s) where he/she will lead staff and ensure delivery of exceptional customer service and sales. The responsibilities include overseeing staff and opening and closing Rental/Retail and Guest Service locations on a daily basis. The RSF works in conjunction with his/her Manager and Supervisor to deliver fiscally responsible supervision of labor resources and operational expenditure for all Business Units reporting to this position. The RSF is responsible for making sure important information gets translated to staff members to enable them to service the guest effectively. The RSF needs to provide the necessary tools and training to assist employees in doing their jobs. You will be working within a small, dynamic team and will be expected to be equally proficient in Retail, Guest Services and the Rental areas of our business. Your ability to smoothly move between these three areas and ability to engage with our customers will be critical to your success. Integrity of the highest order is required and you are incorruptible, abiding by Copper’s privacy policy as well as protecting the business by maintaining the pricing structure even in the face of pressure from peers and guests. In addition to interacting with our guests who range from day visitors, to conference delegates, to event participants and homeowners is a key time for winter season preparation. This means you will also at times be requested to assist in project-type work which can include re-staging our retail locations, moving inventory, testing/repairing rental equipment, data input/re-keying, cleaning & tidying front and back of house areas, and processing retail/rental inventory after it is received. Your honesty & integrity are on display every day, be it talking with guests about the right activity or pass product for them, protecting our retail inventory by being ever-alert or informing your supervisor that your reports are not balanced. You have the guest interests at the front of your mind at all times, actively listening to the guest and then suggesting the appropriate products/services that will ensure a great guest experience. You believe that guest loyalty is gained from providing consistent, quality service & care. You are committed to do whatever it takes to find an answer. “I don’t know” is not in your vocabulary! You are a committed team player, jumping in to assist teammates if the line is long, or if your skills & knowledge are needed. You know that the team’s success is greater when all members are aligned. You anticipate our guest and colleagues’ needs and this means you will jump from one area of our business into another without a second thought. You attend each shift with a positive attitude, knowing that the guest comes first!! You can remain upbeat even when you have been asked the same question 50 times! You actively engage each and every guest, showing them empathy, animation and care, all the while being an eager advocate of the resort. You understand that you are in a role which includes being a front-of-house revenue collector for many departments and each and every interaction with a guest is an opportunity for you to both a) display your belief in the products and services offered by Copper and our partners, and b) help ensure the continued financial success of Copper Mountain. Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Promotes workplace safety and is knowledgeable in and follows all safety requirements and policies
  • You are able to work any hours of the day, any days of the week.
  • You will be available ALL weekends and holidays understanding that they are critical operational times.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum 2 years’ guest service experience required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required
  • Computer proficiency required and should include MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a propensity to learn additional computer systems quickly
  • Strong working knowledge of Copper’s RTP Point of Sale system.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Destination Resort experience in a high-volume, customer-oriented environment preferred
  • Ski/Snowboard rental experience preferred
  • Retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • First and foremost, provide exceptional customer service to our guests at all times. This includes proactively looking for ways to improve the service we provide, resulting in an improved guest experience.
  • Day-to-day oversight of all front-of-house and back-of-house Resort Services operations in designated zones.
  • Open and Close Rental/Retail and Guest Service locations.
  • Take ownership of all guest situations yet recognize when to escalate to the next supervisory level. “Own the Zone”
  • Develop an exceptional working knowledge of the RTP point of sale system and its effective utilization in maintaining an efficient operation.
  • Clean, fold, merchandise and sell retail products to exceed sales goals
  • Actively promote a sales culture where RSA-Ss are upselling to meet designated sales targets
  • Animate the Guest Services experience and seek continuous improvement to ways we service the guest (internal & external)
  • Work closely with the Supervisors to ensure a culture of teamwork, best practices, and peer-to-peer support.
  • Work to ensure that the fundamentals of the Resort Services Department are consistent across all locations/operations and that the teams at each location are working together, ensuring that sharing opportunities are being utilized.
  • Present professional appearance and behavior at all times.
  • Assist in retail duties across multiple locations.
  • Help with opening and closing procedures; cash handling, making the store ready for business
  • Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with our guests and employees.
  • Upholds the most professional image.
  • Continually strives to exceed our guest’s expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.
