About The Position

Resilience & Asset Management (RAM) is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Asset Management team. This role is critical to the long-term reliability and performance of SRP's infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead strategic asset initiatives, optimize lifecycle performance, and collaborate across departments to ensure sustainable and cost-effective asset decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and acquire new technical skills.
  • Strong data skills (e.g., Excel, SQL basics, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to organize a diverse workload, work independently, and complete work accurately and within deadlines.
  • Five (5) years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice.
  • Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer.
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution, ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) or any state or internationally recognized PE registration.
  • Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with information systems is a plus (e.g., Maximo, Cascade, SAP, Snowflake, GIS, Copperleaf).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an engineering project leader and both perform and support business unit's implementation of asset management best practices. Best practices cover topics such as data requirements and data quality, risk definition and assessments, condition health and failure mode analysis, equipment performance, and maintenance and capital replacement strategies, among others.
  • Provide engineering analysis and asset management support assets across the electric system (transmission, distribution, generation and operational technology).
  • Support the adoption of the asset management strategic plan and multi-year improvement plans.
  • Facilitate and support the creation and implementation of tactical asset management plans.
  • Develop, administer, and report on asset management and health metrics for the electric system, Power Delivery, and Resilience & Asset Management.
  • Prepares recommendation material for management consideration.
  • Administers and reviews work performed by consultants and others.
  • Prepares and/or conducts written and oral reports and presentations.
  • Leads collaboration across SRP.
  • Demonstrates thought leadership to further new ideas and business processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and/or customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates leadership in organizational change management to foster the success of new business products, services, and/or business processes.
  • When required/requested, serves on industry committees and task forces as a representative of SRP.
  • Lead process improvements across organizations within the electric system.
  • Develop and implement asset lifecycle strategies, risk assessments, and reliability-centered maintenance activities.
  • Support capital planning and budgeting through data-driven asset condition assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, and IT teams to align asset strategies with organizational goals.
