About The Position

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut seeks compassionate individuals with a great love for helping others. Full Time Availability Salary Position - Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30p but flexible can be 7 to 3, can be 9 to 5 etc. Participation in one on-call rotation every 5 weeks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years, supervisory and administrative experience in a social service agency, preferably a human services agency which serves people with disabilities, including specific experience in residential programs and various disabilities (including brain injury or cognitive impairments including mental illness). 
  • Valid CT driver’s license and daily access to an insured, reliable vehicle for frequent travel throughout the state to program location sites.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Familiarity and proficiency in dealing with CT state agencies and referral sources.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate implementation of case record review of both active and discharged files, monitoring of Individual Service Plans, service delivery, consumer files, monthly reports, etc.   Maintain computerized consumer tracking system.  Ensure file compliance with DMHAS and CARF standards.
  • Ensure that the physical residence is always safe, clean, well maintained and aesthetically pleasing both indoors and on the grounds.
  • Reconcile and account for petty cash, grocery card, gas card and all other expenditures.
  • Maintain company vehicles.
  • Coordinate with Nurse Case Manager to monitor health care for residents.
  • Organize and supervise recreational, vocational and all other activities for residents.
  • Ensure completion of monthly fire drills, quarterly self-inspections, and yearly external inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with DMHAS CR program standard, policy and other program and contract regulations.
  • Provide supervision to direct care staff and CR assistant, if applicable. Perform annual reviews, coach and counsel direct and indirect staff and assist in resolving employee relations issues.  
  • Responsible for staffing and scheduling of assigned residences/locations.
  • Communicate with participants, families, co-workers, and other providers in a professional and accurate manner. Oversee stakeholder satisfaction with all parties.
  • Foster and maintain excellent relationships with referral sources and colleagues.  Foster and develop partnerships with other human service providers.  May serve as a liaison to referral and funding sources and professional groups.
  • Attend and participate in community provider meetings, serving as a liaison between Goodwill and applicable community resources.   Ensure that Goodwill is always represented in a positive light through excellent customer service.
  • On a regular and continuous basis exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences and results having an impact on people, costs and/or quality of service within the functional area.
  • Monitor fiscal reports to ensure that programs are operating within the mandated budget.
  • Ensure best practices in program development and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to resolve all billing or grant issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate on Safety Committee and ensure safety of participants in the physical facility, program sites, and vehicles.  Complete and/or review and monitor incident reports in a timely and accurate manner and identify trends.
  • Assure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations including HIPAA, contract expectations and CARF as well as quality of programs.  Perform random and scheduled site visits and audits.
  • Prepare for CARF accreditation for all residential programs and maintain standards.
  • Facilitate and participate in staff meetings, in-service training programs, professional meetings, conferences, and programs as requested.
  • Implement the standard operating procedures; recommend new or revised SOPs as needed.
  • Participate in after hours on-call rotation, as well as be available after-hours for emergency calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
