About The Position

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: The Hills, set outside of East Quogue, New York. The Hills is seeking a Residential Services Runner to join the Residential Services Department. This is a seasonal role available May 1 – Sept 7, 2026. The Residential Services Runner will be responsible for assisting the Residential Services House Manager with general runner tasks through grocery shopping for members, laundry management, amenity replenishment, mail and package delivery and any other items as requested. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid drivers license in good standing.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and proven success in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members/guests, and team members.
  • Stock properties prior to members/guest arrivals.
  • Secure properties upon members/guests departure.
  • Ensure pre-arrival/post-departure checklists for each home are completed in a timely manner and accurately.
  • Report any emergency needs to the Director of Residential Services.
  • Manage mail and delivery of packages to members’ homes as needed.
  • Execute member requests promptly and with professional demeanor.
  • Assist with preparing rental unit for usage.
  • Other runner tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
