About The Position

The Program Manager is a leader in the residential program, ensuring that all respective activities support the children and team in the effective, safe, and therapeutic operation of the residence and campus operations. The goal is to provide quality supports and services to all youth within the program and to ensure the highest quality of care and safety for the children and staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with 3+ years direct support experience with children or adults with developmental or behavioral disabilities
  • 2+ years of administrative/supervisory experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must always model professionalism and be able to keep composure during crisis
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Residential as well as other program leadership to ensure appropriate day-to-day operations of the residence and residential program overall
  • Act as the primary point of contact for urgent program-related matters, maintaining open availability and responsiveness by phone or in person to support cottage needs at all times, including coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Understand, reinforce, role-model and consistently use all Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and techniques
  • Ensure appropriate supervision to all residents and staff to optimize safety
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules and appropriate staffing ratios
  • Participate actively in all aspects of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of Assistant Program Managers, Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) and other residential staff as needed
  • Monitor staff performance of all staff providing feedback, instruction, support, modeling, and/or corrective action as needed
  • Have advanced knowledge of crisis assessment & intervention, and be available to staff as needed during emergency situations
  • Assist in monitoring budget and spending, including petty cash, to ensure the best use of resources to meet program needs
  • Assess the individual needs of each resident, assessing group dynamics and providing therapeutic support to each child or group of children
  • Ensure all required documentation remains updated and available, and all staff are actively provided with training to ensure accurate information guides treatment
  • Work collaboratively with Clinicians, Behaviorists, Recreation therapists, Trainers, Administrative departments etc. to support the needs of the children and staff
  • Support overall strategic goals of the organization with the ability to adhere to the organization's core values and commitments, including the Sanctuary Model.
