A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESIDENTIAL GROUP HOME PROGRAM COORDINATOR As a Residential Group Home Program Coordinator with our nonprofit, you play an integral role in ensuring our group home runs smoothly. Without you, our clients wouldn't receive the top-quality care they need and our staff wouldn't get the training to help them perform at their best. Most of your day is spent working hands-on with our clients to ensure that their physical and financial well-being is being taken care of. You also hold regular staff meetings and make sure that you are always available when your team needs help or has questions that relate to the operations of our group home. Your willingness to be flexible and remain on call is why you are an effective leader, and it brings you great satisfaction knowing you serve in such an important role with our nonprofit! The Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of the program for people with disabilities; ensuring compliance with state and contract standards for programs and facilities is essential. The individuals in this program need assistance with medical needs, social skills, personal hygiene and self-care, behavior management, communication, safety, recreation and leisure and various other skills to learn independence in their lives. The individuals enjoy being active and doing lots of fun activities both at home and out and about in the community, such as going bowling, to the movies and sporting events, taking karate classes, going out to eat, and shopping.
