Residential Outside Sales/Move Consultant
About The Position
Liberty Moving & Storage, a family-owned relocation company established in 1939, is seeking an Outside Sales Consultant to join its growing team in Commack, NY. With a strong reputation for excellence and growth, Liberty Moving & Storage is the largest agent for United Van Lines and Mayflower in the tri-state area. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers seeking moving and storage services. The consultant will be provided with company-generated leads and also have the opportunity to build their own book of business. Requirements
- 3–5 years of sales experience
- Strong closing ability and customer-facing confidence
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-based environment
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-home and virtual consultations for local and long-distance moves primarily in residential homes
- Prepare detailed, accurate moving estimates using company software of all in-home inventory that is being moved and list things not going
- Manage a steady pipeline of company-provided leads – up to 5 appointment per day
- Self-generate 10–20% of business through networking and outreach
- Travel throughout Suffolk County, Nassau County, and NYC boroughs
- Maintain consistent follow-up to convert leads into booked business at least 40% or more of all estimates
- Coordinate closely with operations and move coordinators to ensure smooth execution of follow ups
- Maintain detailed records, notes, and communication in CRM systems
- Stay responsive to clients before, during, and after their move
