Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Two years' experience in a related field such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
  • One-year supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with diverse youth.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
  • Oversee the staff schedule 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for dorm coverage.
  • Conducts weekly walk through and follows up with staff to ensure all discrepancies are addressed.
  • Report to the Safety Manager and Safety Officer any problems that have been identified in the dormitories area immediately.
  • Ensures that the center maintains the highest level of data integrity in all reporting of center statistics and metrics.
  • Control use of equipment and supplies; recommend purchases as needed.
  • Provides communication for all serious or significant incidents.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and employee training sessions.
  • Provides monthly and weekly activity reports to the Social Development Director.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff in dealing with behavior of students and resolving individual or group situations.
  • Prepares reports, budgets, and objectives for the residential living components.
  • Ensures that order and discipline are maintained in dormitories, while promoting self-discipline and an awareness of others.
  • Ensures orderly and clean-living conditions.
  • Oversees social skills and student leadership sessions.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.
  • Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, arrest, trouble at home and other traumatic experiences.
  • Conduct case note audit, review/audit residential student folders, and recreation water safety in CIS.
  • Conduct daily briefing with noted departments on center for the purpose of disseminating information and reporting of any concern that occurred during the day.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
  • Assesses personnel needs and works with the Human Resources department to screen and interview potential staff. Recommends promotions, transfers, and merit evaluations within the department. Conducts and prepares performance appraisals.

  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
