Requirements

  • A self-motivated, compassionate leader who thrives both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to supporting children and individuals with disabilities.
  • Willingness to obtain DD certification within 18 months and Medication Technician certification.
  • Dedication to learning, accountability, and upholding high standards of care.
  • Ability to manage basic household tasks.
  • Strong observation skills with the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to build positive, cooperative working relationships.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Must obtain DD certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Position includes a six-month introductory period.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience and/or a four-year degree in a related human services field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers.
  • Ensure individualized program needs are met through active participation in ISP/IEP meetings.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, provide coverage when needed, and communicate changes promptly.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff; foster a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data tracking, financial records, and timely reports.
  • Maintain safe, well-supplied, and welcoming homes and agency vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, confidentiality standards, and state licensure requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • If applicable, carry out delegated nursing interventions and medication administration requirements.
