About The Position

The Residential Living Student Employee supports a clean, safe, and peaceful living environment by modeling and upholding community standards and expectations. In alignment with the mission, this role helps foster an environment where residents develop self-reliance, strengthen interpersonal skills, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. The Student Specialist collaborates with other Student Specialists and Residential Living staff, serving as a student advocate while promoting standards and expectations through Hale events, workshops, trainings, and other community initiatives.

  • Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.
  • Work Experience: Intermediate (Developing Skills)
  • Work Experience Description: Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Student Advocacy: Serve as a peer advocate, supporting residents’ needs and concerns while promoting a positive residential experience.
  • Standards & Expectations: Model, communicate, and reinforce Residential Living standards and community expectations among residents.
  • Event & Program Development: Plan, implement, and promote Hale events, workshops, and other initiatives that foster community engagement and growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Student Specialists and Residential Living staff to coordinate programs, trainings, and community initiatives.
  • Leadership & Training: Assist in training and mentoring new student leaders, fostering teamwork and professional development.
  • Community Support: Help maintain a clean, safe, and peaceful living environment by addressing concerns, encouraging accountability, and supporting residential policies.
